Convert - The audio file is left in its original location and a copy is made in WAV or AIFF format and this converted copy, which is stored in the session's audio files folder, is used by Pro Tools. If a file is compatible with Pro Tools you have a choice to add or to copy.
Hello to all! I have a session that was recorded in.ptx in the studio, but now I'm trying to edit the session on my own version of protools (version 8) and it won't let me open it because of the.ptx -.ptf difference. Is there anyway that any of you convert this session or provide me any help with regard to this situation? As I understand users with PT10 and above can convert.ptx to.ptf by using the 'save as' feature. Would anyone be willingly to do this. Any help would very much appreciated.

I've uploaded the session, along with the session backups and put them into a zip file. Is there anything else I should do?
Hey guys, I recently got a Pro Tools Session that was recorded in PTHD10. I'm using PTLE8. All I need are the audio files in the Audio Files folder, not necessarily the actual session, which is.ptx. My question is this: would the extension or the fact that these tracks were recorded in PTHD10 have any impact on my ability to simply use the audio tracks or even play them in Windows Media Player or iTunes?
All of the files in this huge session show as audio-less tracks (no waveforms) when I import them to Pro Tools. If I try to just open the audio files in iTunes or any other player, there is no audio. Is this just an issue with the session not being.ptf? Should that have any effect on the actual.wav files themselves? Would converting this session to.ptf solve the problem, or is this a problem with all of the files? Hey guys, I recently got a Pro Tools Session that was recorded in PTHD10. I'm using PTLE8.
